The Expert.

Hi Kate

how are you? Thank you for your e-mail. . It has been a little on the warmer side here as of late, though also a little windy at time as well. Which I am not a fan of.

I too have an interest in psychology and have been studying it out of interest for about 6 years now. I also once dated a clinical psychologist that I meet on-line who lived in Melbourne. she ended up getting a job at ACT mental health here in Canberra and moved up to actually meet with the hope of a potential future together… though it obviously didn’t work out. She is Indian with very religious Indian parents, which pretty much explains that really.. lol…

What is your style of music?…

lol… I am aware of diabetes and what is involved. I think you find that a lot of people do… lol…
It is only diabetes after all and once in some sort of a routine should have such an impact in and/or you life, as you say…

My Ex girl-friends mother has type-1 diabetes as does a friends farther. My farther has type 3. Unfortunately diabetes in becoming more common in this day and age.

What is the full on illness that you deal with everyday?…

Nice photo Kate, you look great. Though I hope you don’t mind me saying..you look a bit worn out.

I think you are the only one thinking and/or see the diabetes as sad and serious, as you say, to be honest with you…

So why do you think you stay up so late into the morning?….

Look forward to hearing from you,
Craig
I was just cleaning out my inbox, when I came across this gem. I remember when I received it, I could have done 3 hours at the gym I was so furious, but now, I am actually laughing out loud at 2.42am.
A little pre-history about “Craig”…..
He saw my picture in a University program, and asked a mutual friend if we could meet.
I asked if we could swap email addresses first, to see if there was anything interesting that stood out. He happily agreed.
I made the first move-telling him about my life as a student, a wife, a mother, a mother of a baby with Type 1 Diabetes, a marriage breakup, moving back to my home town to get some emotional support…I kept it brief, but I wanted to be honest.
I also wanted to him know, that at THAT time, Diabetes was not behaving at all, and causing all types of problems. Lance was a good two years younger than he is now, and his blood sugars were insane. I found myself waking up in the most bizarre places, purely from exhaustion.
The above was Craig’s reply.
As you can imagine, I let him know how blatantly flippant he had come across, and that I had no desire to hear from him again.
However, now I can’t stop laughing…he actually allowed himself to press “send”?
I will make it duty to educate TWO people about Type 1 Diabetes tomorrow..
HAHA.
